Easy Digital Downloads AMP pages customization

weeblrAMP provides extensive support for Easy Digital Downloads. In addition to simply AMPlifying download pages, weeblrAMP will let your visitors:

  • browse AMP categories, with pagination and sorting options selector
  • browse AMP download pages
  • Layout will include featured images, if any.
  • Galleries in description are turned into images carousel, with thumbnails weeblrAMP Easy Digital Downloads gallery with thumbnails

  • add a download to their cart, from AMP pages, on site or on Google Cache weeblrAMP Easy Digital Downloads add download to cart

  • The Purchase function complies with the most commong EDD options: variable prices, Add to cart or Buy Now (redirect to payment gateway)
  • view a live minicart, with number of items and price, plus a Checkout button weeblrAMP Easy Digital Downloads minicart

In addition, from a more technical standpoing, weeblrAMP will generate

  • extensive schema.org markup (json-ld), for downloadable products, both on download page and on categories pages. Contact information (sales or customer services phone numbers) is alos included.
  • the usual OpenGraph data and Twitter cards markup for sharing

Easy Digital Downloads AMP pages are easily customizable, using the same method than all other contents:

  • from the Admin, using the plugin settings page
  • with filters and actions
  • with template overrides

Installation

Easy Digital Downloads is only supported in the regular edition of weeblrAMP.

weeblrAMP Easy Digital Downloads support is made of two parts:

  • reading products data from EDD is built-in, as an "integration"
  • display is done through our Easy Digital Downloads theme, which is actually a standard WordPress plugin

To fully use Easy Digital Downloads, you thus need to download the weeblrAMP Easy Digital Downloads theme plugin from our download page, and install it just like you installed weeblrAMP in the first place.

After installation and activation, you gain full support for an AMP Easy Digital Downloads implementation.

The plugin itself does not need configuration, but it does come with a large set of customization option to adjust the visual aspect of the shop. Please read on the following pages for more details.
