 Hi,

In the last few days, the following error has been reported on many of my AMP pages:

AMP HTML Tag has an invalid layout specified by its attributes.
First detected: 10/13/20
Status: Error

Can you check this out for me? Thank you.

Hi Andy,

You seem to be using an optimization service:

Due to using this service, weeblrAMP is not able to determine the width and height of the image and therefore the values are are empty, which AMP does not accept.

You should manually set the width and height of these images in your page source code to fix this. Note that this will also help your CLS score (Core Web Vitals).

Best regards

I have stopped having images hosted by Optimole and the problem persists. Then I deactivated the Optimole service and tested again. The test confirmed that all my images are now hosted on the Hostgator server, but the problem still persists. Additionally, all my images have height and widths properly defines. I confirmed that by examining all the images in my WP media library one at a time. Please help!

Please see the attached screenshot. Thanks.

Your system failed to load my screenshot, so here is another URL of a page where Google reports the "AMP HTML Tag has an invalid layout specified by its attributes" issue:

Hi

As of right now, all your images are still hosted on Optimole:

That said, I'm not so sure this is the problem as some of these do have width and height as expected. There's just one single image that's failing:

amp-img alt=" logo" src="https://mlozaotranto.i.optimole.com/8aYiWIM.WtAb~653e6/w:auto/h:auto/q:75/https://ocalahomes.online/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/AMPlogo.jpg" width="" height="" class="amp-wp-enforced-sizes wbamp-site-image">

But if I try to load this image in my browser, I get redirected to https://ocalahomes.online/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/AMPlogo.jpg

And that image does not exist, it's a 404 which explains why weeblrAMP cannot find its width and height.

Your system failed to load my screenshot,
Is it possible that your screenshots have uppercase extensions? as in screenshot.PNG? It was reported this was an issue on another of our websites but I did not change the corresponding setting here. I have done it now so if the problem is caused by uppercase extensions, it should be fixed.

Best regards

I have completely deactivated Optimole, the image optimization plugin I have been using since before purchasing your AMP plugin. I can see my images in my Media library and on my pages and posts. However, even with Optimole deactivated, Google Search Console reports the same errors. I have also cleared my WP Rocket Cache, my Cloudflare cache, my server cache and my browser cache.

Let me try to be clearer: you are including an image that does not exist:

This image that you included in your content somehow does not exist. And so the AMP validator does not accept it.

Sorry about mentioning Optimiole earlier, I thought this was the problem and did not even think about actually checking whether the image existed as you said you were sure all images existed.

Best regards

Thank you. Now that I understand the issue, i corrected it and a validation has started. I have no idea how a couple of images used in my Weeblr AMP setup had disappeared from my WP Media Library, but it was a minor issue to reload them.
